Dogs can make friends with just about anyone in the human community. While it’s unlikely that a royal family would adopt a non-breed, the canine family remains true to their motto; a friend to everyone.
Ireland’s President owns these massive Bernese Mountain Dogs. On this day, they’re meeting with none other than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
President Michael Higgins welcomed his royal visitors, gave them a tour, and even introduced them to his giant pet dogs. That’s what we call a royal gathering, pun intended.
While the royal hoomans did their royal duties, the pets patiently waited for their master to give them the sign that it’s okay to join the party.
When President Higgins called his pets after the rounds have been made, the pets eagerly obeyed. They were excited to meet the British Royalty couple too.
The dogs must have sensed that these people were not the regular ones their master meets with, so they made sure they were on their best behavior.
The famous couple admired the Irish President’s dogs, and Meghan even gave one lucky doggo a quick and affectionate coat rub.
Then it was time to snap some photos, and the gang posed for the cameras. The pets did the same, making sure they looked smart and snappy.
The small party continued talking while they walked towards their waiting vehicles. The dogs appeared once more, saying goodbye to the royal couple as they walked past.
What lucky dogs, and how we wish we could take their place even for just a bit. For one of President Higgins’ pets, it must have been a glorious feeling to have someone so famous give a body rub.
Well done, doggos! You made an otherwise regular event appear more interesting. Thank you!
