As the globe battles with the deadly coronavirus pandemic, hundreds of individuals and organizations are showing their appreciation to the brave front liners in various ways and means. This fur dad from Colorado and his singing husky are no exception.
Tate Hegstrom serves as an administrative resident at HealthONE, the most prominent healthcare system found within the metro Denver area. Over the recent months, he has been working tirelessly at the Denver-based North Suburban Medical Center to make sure the hospital is equipped and ready to battle the deadly virus.
Most of his and his colleagues’ tasks involve setting up numerous ICU rooms and identifying safe isolation places for incoming COVID-19 patients. This is to guarantee that both their healthcare workers and patients are in the best care and protection.
However, apart from protecting the hospital staff from the surge of the virus, his team is also on the lookout for opportunities to show their appreciation and support to these brave essential workers. Just recently, Tate and a bunch of his co-workers recorded a video of themselves singing “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers.
Each of the team members sang a segment of the song from the comforts of their home and submitted it to the team leader who collated the clips. Tate, however, did an adorable spin to his segment as he invited his furry housemate, Kovu, the husky, to join in on the serenade.
Kovu typically enjoys singing along to any sort of melodic stuff, so the 25-year-old fur dad didn’t even have a hard time convincing the pooch to sing a duet with him. When Tate recorded his piece, the three-year-old husky casually joined in on the howling as he watched Tate strum the guitar.
It was quite safe to say that their bit in the serenade took everyone by storm. And before the singing duo knew it, they were already a big hit online. Watch the adorable and heartwarming duet here.
