Many people today prefer to adopt rescue dogs from animal shelters. Despite this, countless canines are still abandoned. The majority of abandoned dogs are those that have specific needs. People tend to avoid animals with disabilities since they may require expensive, specialized care.
As a result, countless pets with special needs are euthanized to make room in animal shelters. Many animal rescuers and groups work tirelessly to provide these dogs with a second opportunity to live a great life. Mr. Bones & Company is an excellent illustration of this type of animal rescue organization.
When Hazel the dog was saved, she was already blind. It was unlikely that anyone would adopt her, and she was in danger of being euthanized. She was thankfully rescued from the animal shelter and placed with a foster family. Hazel’s first foster home taught her to trust humans and trained her to detect sound signals.
Hazel is a lovable dog with the potential to make an excellent pet. Her special needs, however, became an obstacle toward her adoption. That was why a vet saw that surgery could restore her vision, and that surgery was soon scheduled.
Hazel received eye surgery shortly after entering her second foster home. As soon as Hazel left the surgical room, she was an entirely different dog. Even though her vision had not yet entirely recovered, she was overjoyed to be able to perceive shapes and movements.
Hazel’s tail was wagging continuously because she was so thrilled to be able to see once more. She was already a friendly and active dog. And after regaining her vision, she became even more energetic and more affectionate.
As soon as Hazel had fully recovered from her surgery, she was adopted by an extraordinary family who gave her a permanent home and a furever family.
