The Houston H4M Street Team, a non-profit animal rescue organization, responded immediately upon learning that a dog was kept in deplorable conditions. They were able to contact the dog’s owner, who consented to allow them to see the animal, which they eventually called Marilyn. Even though they anticipated the worst, they were surprised when they saw her up close.
The neglected dog was a skeleton on four legs. She was emaciated, bald, and her chafed skin pushed against her ribs. She was so feeble that she could hardly stand without falling.
Marilyn has been with her owner for at least six years, but he has not taken her to the veterinarian in roughly three years. According to him, the veterinarian proposed euthanizing her, but he decided to let her live. He provided her with food and let her roam freely, but he did nothing to treat her skin problem.
The man refused to surrender the dog out of fear of losing her. Ironically, he was unwilling to better Marilyn’s life in any way. He merely desired to keep her around, even if it meant she would endure much more suffering.
The rescuers were determined to take Marilyn from her situation. They advised her owner that he may take her to a local animal clinic or seek assistance from their rescue organization. They also offered to take her, and they were relieved when he agreed to this.
When she first joined her foster home, Marilyn was sick and depressed. But thanks to her foster mother Caitie, she gradually transformed into a healthy and content dog. She gained self-assurance and explored her new surroundings.
In approximately 1.5 months, the dog recovered. People could not believe it was the same dog when she grew a stunning coat. A family fell in love with her immediately and offered her a loving home.
Marilyn, now known as Nala, is overjoyed to be in her new home. She sleeps soundly in her own bed, has delectable meals, and visits the veterinarian frequently. She receives everything she needs and more. Certainly, she is a spoiled dog, and she has every right to be.
