Pit Bulls’ first impressions are mainly scary and angry dogs. Their face intimidates most humans and even dogs. But Sasha proved otherwise.
This eight-month-old dog saved the lives of her humans, including a baby! It was June 3, Sunday, when huge flames began to spread in Stockton, California. Sasha was out in the backyard, enjoying the warm breeze of summer, when she saw the fire spreading rapidly.
Quickly, she barked for help and banged the door to call her human. Nana Chaichanhda, her owner, heard the barks and went outside fast to see what was happening. There, she realized her cousin’s apartment, right next door to her, was on fire.
On the other hand, Sasha did not waste any second and ran inside the house straight into the bedroom. After the shock and confusion, Nana ran after her dog. When she arrived at the room, she saw Sasha dragging her seven-month-old baby off her bed by her diapers. Nana grabbed her baby and led her dog outside without any second thoughts.
They were able to get somewhere safe and call 911 to reach for help. It was a proud moment for her. If not for Sasha’s alertness and quick wit, they wouldn’t be able to get out in time.
Thankfully, the firefighters arrived. They put out the flames and saved most of the building. However, the fire destroyed Nana and her cousin’s apartment. She set up a GoFundMe page to ask for help and now stays with her relatives.
Nana is so thankful to have Sasha in her life. This heroic dog is not just sweet and loyal but thoughtful and brave. She hopes that whoever hears this story will change the misconception about pit bulls.
Generally and instinctively, dogs are human’s best friend and one of our best protectors.
