Margo is a sweet, lovable pit bull who was recently taken in by the One Love Pit Bull Foundation as a stray. When her foster mom saw her, she was shocked at how overweight Margo was—120 pounds! But she didn’t hesitate to take her in and get to work on helping her lose weight.
When Margo’s foster mom first saw her, she couldn’t believe how obese the pit bull was. She weighed a whopping 120 pounds! Her foster mom brought her to a vet and discovered that Margo has hypothyroidism, which can cause weight gain. However, it’s a medical condition that can be addressed with proper diet and exercise.
Margo’s foster mom happens to be a physical trainer, so she was the perfect person to help Margo lose weight. The first step was getting Margo moving—and that wasn’t easy at first. The poor pittie was so overweight that she couldn’t walk properly.
But with the help of some other dogs in her foster mom’s care, she began to love walking and slowly but surely started shedding the pounds.
Nowadays, Margo is a whole new dog! She’s slimmed down to a healthy weight and is full of energy.
She loves going on walks and playing with her canine friends. Her story is an inspiration to all dog lovers out there—with a little love and plenty of hard work, anything is possible. This dog sure is lucky to have been seen and taken in by this lovely lady who fostered her.
Margo is living proof that sometimes, all it needs for us to solve our problems is someone who cares enough to help us. Don’t despair if you happen to own a dog who’s overweight. With patience and some guidance from your veterinarian, you can help your furry friend slim down too!
