Cedar Wright and Alex Honnold are professional climbers who also create films and shows for the popular monthly magazine, National Geographic. The two are close friends who have traveled all over the globe for their adventures. Oftentimes, they document their exploits, which feature their death-defying experiences.
Both of them have suffered some injuries in completing their explorations. Despite this, they refuse to stop. Their bodies take a lot of beating, and that’s why they call their expeditions Sufferfest.
Their feats have made them many fans who eagerly await their next video.
Hiding in a tire
One of their latest undertakings involved traveling 800 miles across the American Southwest on their bicycles and climbing 45 of the most iconic towers in the area. During a bike ride across a desert, the two explorers stopped to take a pee on the side of an empty road. While they were doing their business, Cedar noticed something moving inside an old tire.
The two men went in for a closer look and were pleasantly surprised to see a small black puppy hiding inside. The fluffy pup looked healthy and somewhat clean, so they assumed he was abandoned. They couldn’t leave the homeless creature behind, so they placed him inside a van that followed them on their journey. They even made him a makeshift crate using an empty beer box.
Mascot
The adorable puppy, who they named Sufferpup, became their mascot for the rest of their trip. The small dog would tag along with the crew who documented the expedition. Cedar and Alex would also play with him during downtimes as the puppy helped them relax. They said that having him on their adventure made the experience more enjoyable.
When their expedition ended, Sufferpup was adopted by a loving family in Colorado. The two explorers couldn’t adopt him as they were always on the road. But whenever Cedar has the time, he visits the puppy in his new home.
