JP Alipio and his wife, Candy, own a beautiful chocolate Labrador Retriever named Pacha. The National Geographic Explorer and Forest Builder shared that Pacha is quite a celebrity in his hometown, Baguio City, Philippines, and is known to many as Pacha, The Mountain Dog, because of how amazing he is as an adventure partner.
The couple shared that Pacha has been in their lives ever since she was a little puppy and was only four months old when she started accompanying them in their short daily walks. Pacha loved climbing mountains and always looks forward to exploring new forests.
Pacha became an adventure dog that every person with active lifestyle dreams of having after being trained in simple trail runs, long hikes, and trail races. After fully integrating her into their routine walks and runs, Candy eventually started creating an Instagram account to document their countryside adventures with Pacha.
The couple shared pictures and videos of Pacha running off-leash into the wild, overgrown greenery of different forests they visit. Many Instagram followers felt the unfiltered joy in Pacha that it even enticed them to want to have a similar lifestyle with their dogs.
Pacha’s parents eventually decided to start Ruff Guides, a hiking tour directed by Pacha and JP, for the city folks who want to take their dogs out for outdoor activities. The pair started with an easy hike, which took less than an hour and did not require too much effort.
The dogs that went to Pacha and JP’s first tour were of different breeds and sizes, but while their handlers quickly exhausted their way to the mountaintop, all pups did not find the hike too hard. Everyone saw how the animals’ moods shifted for the better, making her human parents hope that Pacha would inspire dog owners to have an active lifestyle with their pets.
