People frequently associate pit bulls with violence, although they are loyal and sweet-tempered dogs. That’s why we appreciate stories that restore our faith in humanity.
In the early morning on October 1st, a young toddler named Kh’amorion Taylor from St. Louis, Missouri, somehow managed to go out of his home without his family’s knowledge. He ended up walking the streets of his neighborhood.
Meanwhile, a woman was walking her pet dogs in her neighborhood in North St. Louis when she saw a toddler dressed in pajamas walking down the road.
The woman, who preferred anonymity, stated that the boy looked neat and that someone was taking care of him. The only exception is that he’s not wearing any footwear.
But what was more remarkable was that Kh’amorion wasn’t alone when she found him. A large white and gray Pit Bull calmly walked alongside him as if trying to protect him.
After seeing him, the woman took it upon herself to find the missing boy’s family. She knocked at every door to see if anyone could identify the missing boy. Meanwhile, the pit bull followed her at all times. After hours of searching, the boy’s father discovered the child in a social media post, resulting in the family’s reunion.
Surprisingly, the Pit Bull who stayed with the toddler wasn’t a family pet but a stray. Despite this, the canine stayed by his side and protected him. It also seems that the boy liked the gentle dog and kept calling him ‘puppy.’
For the neighbor who found the boy, assisting in his return home was the bare minimum she could do for her neighborhood. She made a tremendous effort to reunite the boy with his family and said that it’s essential that people unite in times like these, as we help build and foster a sense of community.
