There is a social media trend in which people would bring their dog to a pet store and buy everything it touches. And a man had the idea of doing the same thing with rescue dogs.
Rocky, a pet rescue advocate, thought about bringing an abandoned dog named King to a pet store. Because he had never visited a pet store before, King was definitely in for a treat. It was going to be a great thing for him and Rocky was excited about what King would be doing at the store.
King was abandoned and had never had someone care for him before. In the past, he was hit by a car, and despite the veterinarians’ best efforts, the poor dog’s leg had to be amputated to save him from pain and misery. King has not been adopted since he was rescued, possibly because he is already an elderly dog.
When they arrived at the store, Rocky allowed the dog to freely sniff and explore the interior. King touched cans, pet furniture, toys, balls, meat strips, treats, and snacks. As expected, the dog became more enthusiastic when they actually reached the meat and bone section, and he was touching and sniffing numerous meaty treats.
To find out whether King had chosen the items he had touched on purpose, Rocky grouped three distinct snack packs. The first was for cats, the second for hamsters, and the last contained peanut butter goodies. To his surprise, when the dog approached the bags, he ignored all of them them and went straight to the shelf containing dog food.
King is really fortunate to experience something that every dog surely desired. Rocky has definitely shown that rescue dogs like this dog are as lovable as all other pets out there, and that they all deserve our affection and should also be given a chance to enjoy life as they should.
