Volunteer workers of the animal rescue group Love Furry Friends in Ukraine continue to fulfill their mission despite the danger brought about by the war. They patrol communities that have been completely vacated and bring food and water to the dogs left behind. If necessary, they bring the dogs to the animal clinic.
Several days back, the rescuers went to feed a pack of dogs in a neighborhood, where almost everyone was gone. There, they met a kind man and learned that he stayed behind to look after his neighbor’s dogs. They also discovered that he tries so hard to make ends meet in order to keep every dog on his street from starving.
To help the kind man, the rescuers left a few bags of dog food under his care and also agreed to take any dog that needed medical attention. They made arrangements to make sure every pup in the alley will always have something to eat. While they spoke, a Border Collie mix showed up and tried so hard to get the rescuers’ attention.
Curious about what the situation might be, the rescuers followed the dog. They knew it wanted to bring them somewhere but they had no clue where. Eventually, it went inside a yard and showed them where the rest of his friends were.
Besides the Border Collie, there were other dogs that lived in the said yard. One of them, a female German Shepherd, was in a bad shape. She was emaciated and sick and she needed to see the vet right away.
Due to limited resources, the rescuers can only take dogs that are sick or injured, hence, they decided to take only the sick dog with them. But as they prepped the pup and walked it to their rescue vehicle, the rest of the dogs stared at them and begged them not to tear their pack apart.
The sick dog is seriously ill but she’s now getting the medical care she needs. She will spend a few more days at the clinic until she’s well enough to join her friends at the rescue center.
Meanwhile, the three dogs spend their days playing with their newfound friends at the rescue center. They are welcome to stay with LOve Furry Friends until they are ready to go home.
