Bret Winingar is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who lives in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has a collection of amazing bikes and would frequently go on rides with his son Zach.
One day, while the two were out on their favorite activity, they came across a strange sight on the side of the road. So they decided to stop and investigate.
Upon closer inspection, they discovered it was an old, beaten-up plastic dog carrier. The top panel was chewed off from the inside, making them suspect something was inside. And they were right.
Skin and bones
The father and son duo got closer, and they were met by a stink so bad that it must have come from a rotting carcass. But when they opened the crate, the occupant, an emaciated black dog, was still alive. He was very weak but still breathing.
The poor pooch was lying down on his own waste, indicating that he most likely was trapped inside for a long time. His body was also dotted with open sores. He needed help, and Bret and Zach were more than willing to give it.
Bret went home to get his truck while his son stayed with the dog. They then immediately brought the dog to a vet, where he got cleaned up, treated, and fed.
Charlie Bravo
The dog they named Charlie Bravo was released the same day, and Bret took him home. For the next several days, he and his family took care of the pooch, ensuring he got the medicine and the nourishment he needed. And in just a week or so, he fully regained his strength.
Charlie Bravo was very appreciative of the help he received and showed his gratitude every day by living a happy life. Eventually, he even joined Bret and his son during their rides. With the bond they developed, the dog soon became a loving family member.
