A dog approaching another animal can often lead to one of two things. It’s either they will introduce themselves peacefully or assert dominance.
In the case of a pit bull named Piglet, she approached a horse out of curiosity. That curiosity then led to a wonderful and heartwarming friendship.
When Piglet walked at a certain park with her owner, he approached a horse pen. One of the horses came up to the fence and stood near the dog. The owner wasn’t sure how Piglet would react, so she was quite surprised when the dog licked the horse’s nose.
Since meeting the horse, Piglet would always visit its pen whenever she was at the park. The two animals became best friends, constantly giving each other kisses through the fence. This kind of behavior surprised the owner because of the fact that Piglet is usually anxious. Piglet didn’t like other dogs, which means that her friendship with the horse was a big deal for her.
Seeing how well Piglet bonded with a horse, the owner introduced the dog to other animals. She met some Alpacas, but they didn’t like her. After that, she went and met some goats who were calmer, but they too lost interest after a while. Eventually, Piglet met cows who bonded with her like she was one of them.
Even after making a lot of friends, there is one animal that stands out for Piglet. The first horse she met, Fritz, will always be her favorite friend aside from her owner. Their friendship signifies Piglet’s first step toward overcoming her anxieties.
Piglet’s owner never failed to let her know how much she’s loved. The constant farm visits were one way for the owner to educate her about the joys of existing in the world. Everything that she does is related to that goal.
